    Missing maint and maint history

Sorry if this is a duplicate post. I though I posted it an hour ago but it seems to be missing.

I have a definite problem with missing Update History and possibly some missing maintenance.

On 2 PCs I've used gpedit to (supposedly) allow me to control download and installation of maintenance - set to "Notify for download and notify for install" . It works fine on an old test PC, but doesn't seem to be working on my regularly used PC. In fact, my update history says I applied no maintenance at all (although the "Uninstall updates" shows some up to 05/13). "Check for updates" says I'm up to date.

The Reliability History shows fixes being installed (even though I have not been notified of any and so haven't requested any be installed), but they are for things like "Advertising SDK Libraries for XAML" and for .NET. No security updates, etc. Windows Troubleshooting reports no problem with maintenance.

Edit: Ok. I found the probable cause for the unasked for updates being automatically installed. There is a group policy "Allow Automatic Updates immediate installation" which allows immediate installation of updates that don't require a reboot. I've now disabled that.

That date of 05/13 in the Uninstall list worries me a bit because a couple days ago I restored the PC with an Acronis backup taken on 05/13. Everything except maintenance seems to be working fine, but could the restore have hosed over the update function?

Also, I did a clean reinstall on 05/05. I cannot guarantee that the user control of updates has actually worked since then. I don't remember when I did the gpedit hack, but I'm pretty sure it was prior to the 05/13/backup.

So - finally - two questions:
Is there any way to get the Update History working again?
Is it possible there has been no real Windows 10 maint since 05/13?

Good! That shows in the Reliability History. That means I'm probably not missing any updates. Any idea why it (and everything else) is missing from the update history?

It probably has something to do with the gpedit's you did though I don't know why or which one. I can't find any info at all on where update history is stored.

Unless accidentally changed something unintentionally (and that is always a possibility) I changed only "Configure Automatic Updates" (changing it to Enabled and setting option 2 - "Notify for download and notify for update"), and somewhat later, changing "Allow Automatic Updates immediate Installation" to Disabled". I've made that same change on 2 other PCs and it did not clear the update history.

Do you run any hard drive cleanup tools? Maybe one of them ????

Nope ... unless Win10 automatically runs a clean up (and it hopefully would not delete something like the update history).
