This one is from a German site which was translated to English.

I created a shortcut on my desktop at the same time. Still works.

    David,

Were these for the ISO file direct download URLs from the download button and not to the download page?

    Not sure what you mean.

I opened the shortcut > went through the selections of Edition, Language and bit versions > and I stopped at Save As stage as I don't really need it....................

Notice the Link expires time. That is a screen capture done just now.

It's the URL you get when you right click on a Download button, and click on "Create shortcut" to have it placed on your desktop. These are the links that expire in 24 hours.

But the desktop shortcut still works.
So, that's not an issue, is it ?

If the shortcut is for the direct download link (download button URL), then it would be interesting if it still works after 24 hours.

The screenshots I posted were from the Tech Bench desktop shortcut which I created more than 25 hours ago.

Thanks for the followup, davidhk. I understand better what you mean now.

The shortcut containing the URL to land on that page stays good past 24 hours.

However, the shortcut I made by first selecting version and language (displays "validating" after both selections) and then right dragging the "64-bit Download" button to my desktop as a shortcut (around same time you made your shortcut) had expired after the 24 hours passed, i.e., double clicking on it just opens IE to a "403 - Forbidden" message now.

@Brink - If I right click on the download button to save as shortcut, I get a "Copying...." window that says "Calculating the time required to copy the files." and it's hung like that now for 10 minutes - I will kill all IE instances to get rid of it, since that's the only way I could get out of it night before last when I first tried by that means.
