To the OP, Please go to the performance tab in task manager, how much is reserved for hardware?

No, it i s fine. Axe just wondered, if you have few GB reserved (probably - I'm guessing).

BTW, you should post a picture from performance tab in task manager. Just to show the configuration of memory.

73MB for hardware is fine :) I indeed thought your system had reserved a few GB for it.

Looks normal to me. Windows will use more memory with systems that have more available. You should monitor usage and if it is high again, try to identify what service uses it.
Anti-virus are sometimes causing this (reinstall helps).

Could you make a screenshot of the settings of the virtual memory and post it please. Just to ensure there is nothing wrong too :)

While the "System and compressed memory" entry is the largest in the list with 200 MB we must put that into perspective. That is only about 2.5% of the 8 GB total memory and clearly not the problem. Best to ignore that.

Be aware that there are some very significant users of memory that are not processes and will not appear in any process list. Some do not appear in Task Manager at all.

Post a screenshot of Task Manager - Performance tab, showing memory information. That is the best place to start with memory problems.
