    Great !
I had the same issue with Windows 10 / nVidia GeForce GTX 560 / Firefox / infinite scroll websites (Facebook) : "System and Memory Compression" was then using a huge amount of CPU, making the PC almost unusable.

As suggested, I ran DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in safe mode, rebooted into normal mode and installed an old version of the nVidia drivers (362.00), which solved the issue.
    Thanks a lot !

Hi First I do not speak English I am using google translator. I had the same problem and solved by disabling in my antivirus (BitDefender) the "Block port scans in the network". which is in firewall.

Video driver causing System and Compressed Memory CPU hog - Radeon

I had this problem - System and Compressed Memory at 30% constantly - and I updated my Radeon video driver and it went away.

I'm still getting the problem with the latest nVidia display driver (365.19). Is it just the GTX560/Ti which is affected in this way? Can anyone confirm the last good driver which definitely does not cause this?

First off, I created an account to specifically reply to this thread to thank you all for being beautiful magnificent people. I have had this problem for just over 2 weeks now and it's been with every single browser on nearly every website, stutters, lag, everything. I've got 16gb of RAM and an 8-core processor with a 3gb graphics card so I knew it had to be something fishy. After disabling the Facebook desktop notification and turning off the BitDefender "Block port scans" (Thank YOU Wil01 for that one) everything is perfect again. I cannot express how happy I am. Dear God I could and would kiss you all (hey it's not gay if it's in thanks). Thank you everyone for contributing to this!
