High memory usage when downloading and browsing the internet

Hello all, I have been plagued by this problem for a while now. When I am downloading something with utorrent the memory usage in task manager slowly creeps to 100% and makes my computer unusable and even if I shut down utorrent the memory usage does not change and I have to restart my PC. Same goes for browsing facebook or any other sites. Is there a solution to this? I really don't want to reinstall my system. Thank you.

So earlier I have downloaded a 9gb file and the memory usage went up again, I have closed utorrent and opera and made a screenshot of the processes in task manager, memory usage is at 76%. If the downloaded file would have been larger then the memory usage would have reached 100%....

Sounds like a memory leak, try reinstalling the client
If no change then consider a different client, BitTorrent for example

The same thing happens with bitcomet or bitTorrent. It even happened when I downloaded starcraft from battlenet or mortal kombat x from steam.

    Try a repair, sfc /scannow
Does the same issue occur if downloading a large file via a browser?
Do you get memory leaks through just general use?

it usually happens when dowloading a large file, it does not matter if it is through a browser or a bittorrent client.
