    Backup and Restore Error

Just bought a new Windows 10, Office 2016, Ultra HD Lenovo computer. Already having issues, surprise surprise! Not only are there scaling/blurry issues with some apps, but Windows Backup and Restore is displaying the following error:

The semaphore timeout period has expired.

I'm trying to backup to an external Seagate drive.

I've tried several fixes as I was previously having this issue too (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...890485a59?db=5), but nothing has worked.

I just don't get how a brand new computer has these issues, but I guess that Windows 10/Microsoft for you...any help would be much appreciated and Happy Holidays!

Instead of using Windows Built-in Backup/Restore.
Use either: Macrium Reflect Free or AOMEI Backupper . They are both good, reliable and free

How do they compare to Veeam Endpoint Backup? The guys over at Reddit love that one and I just downloaded it too. But, I'm open to others as well like the ones you mentioned. I guess it's just becoming a "pet peeve" and I want to fix this issue haha but maybe that's not possible.

The free Macrium always worked for me - since 7 years.

Alright. I guess I'll just leave this Windows Backup issue alone unless someone randomly has a fix.
