Old entries still appear on "SELECT WHICH ICONS APPEAR ON THE TASKBAR"

    Hi folks,

First time posting here. Hopefully one of you registry whiz-kids can help me out.

Basically, I know it's a little thing, but it's certainly bothered me enough to set up an account here at TenForums. I'm something of a neatness freak, y'know.

So, if you go to SETTINGS > SYSTEM > NOTIFICATIONS & ACTIONS > SELECT WHICH ICONS APPEAR ON THE TASKBAR.

It gives a list of all the icons you can make visible one taskbar ... including ones I have uninstalled and will never use again! It even has the "Get Windows 10" option on there, even though I've now upgraded to Windows 10. I mean C'MON, MAN!

Is there any kind of hack or tweak that you guys know of that will let me delete these unwanted entries and clear the list up? (I've attached a picture with a couple of these unwanted entries circled.)

Thanks in advance, although I doubt this is actually doable, as it's probably embedded in the OS! Just another Windows quirk I'll have to live with!

But any advice would be gratefully received ...

    Regards,

    Marko

Hello Marko, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Resetting your notification area icons should normally sort this for you.

OMG, spent FAR too much time trying to figure this out on my own and googling didn't help much for at least 90 minutes. Until I stumbled on this older thread in this forum. FINALLY got rid of malwarebytes in my notifications list, along with a ton of others that weren't quite as annoying as MB was. Their uninstaller and Clean Tool did NOT kill this in my list. Thank you thank you THANK YOU!

Those entries tend to get messed up often for me.
Resetting the Notification Area icons fixes it.
You just have to reset everything back to how you had it.
