FreeFileSync download brought along some Tune-up utility, but I just uninstalled it.

Sorry about that, I checked for malware only, the way to avoid these little presents is to avoid the express, (or similar), install option, and carefully check each page of the install and you will normally find an option to decline the install of the extras

I will just use 'Mirror' then. And my files are already organized around a BackUp folder.

There is no way to prevent some junk being installed along with FreeFileSync,
but this is a free tool and they need some revenue, no problem as long as it is not infected.

I like this tool so far.

    This forum is Great...!!!!

I've never had anything extra installed along with FreeFileSync. I am always careful to look at which EULA I am accepting and always pick custom install when presented with the option.

I use EaseUS | Data Recovery, Backup, Partition Manager & PC Utility Software which handles both system images and selective data backups - the free version has all the tools you need for basic set-ups including scheduling.

We as a site actually had a free offer recently for the slightly more advances Home version so may be worth checking google for similar offers but I can recommend the free version
I'm using Easeus todo backup free. The best about it is to automatically delete old images so that the hard drive would not be filled up.

Same here. I have been using FreeFileSync for years without problem :)
The Menu > Help > View Help file is very informative, here are some suggestions:

    Create a Batch Job
Set up the sync as you like then create a batch job via Menu > File > Save as batch job...
Put the resulting icon somewhere handy and simply double click to start. If it's a big sync you can schedule it to run through the Windows Task Scheduler but I find it easy to double click then go make coffee or have dinner or whatever

    Variable Drive Letters
This is good for when Windows decides to change your drive letter, your backup will still work because it looks for the drive name not letter. This is recommended if you create Batch Jobs.

If you travel and change time zones then you should read Daylight Saving Time in the Help file.
Basically, you should have your backup drive formatted to NTFS so the time the file was modified will always appear correctly. If your backup drive is formatted to say FAT32 then when you change the timezone on your computer FreeFileSync will read that every file on the backup drive needs to be updated

Couldn't help but see on your Desktop screen "Registry Workshop" 1st person I've seen on here that uses it, besides me. I bought that years ago, and it still works GREAT!! :)

The screen shot is from my Customized Windows PE (Same as what KYHI has done his) but I put my own tools including the native Windows Recovery, my favorite browser FF. Registry Workshop is way, way better than Windows built in Regedit.exe and that's the only thing I use when dealing with Registry.

I have a copy too. IMO RW is the best registry editing tool there is.
