    Defrag

Having set win 10 defrag to work on a daily bases - it's not working. Gone three days now and no optimization. Anyone come across this? or know of a fix.

Probably unnecessary to defrag. Windows just more or less manages this stuff on its own.

You dont really want to defrag an SSD, certainly not daily.

Defragging SSD and Flash drives will wear them out faster. I do not suggest doing this. Defrag mechanical HDD's only

Windows 10 defrag.exe will defragment HDD, optimize SSD (issue trim) and perform slab consolidation on VHD. SSDs are also automatically defragmented monthly if you have system restore configured. Source

@no1yak - what does it say under task scheduler?

Has your PC been plugged in, turned on and not being used overnight?

SSD drives do not need to be defragged.

Task manager was not configured under defrag. I have now set defrag to run once a month via the task manager. Strange that the setting in optimize schedule didn't work. By the way I'm fully aware of how win 10 sends the trim command to SSD's and it's only my spinners that get defraged.

    Thanks for the response.
