Very Slow Boot up Time (almost 3 minutes) Lenovo Desktop A340

    Hello

I just bought a Lenovo A340 desktop computer yesterday and I have updated everything.

Every time i had to reset the computer , the boot up time is ridiculous ( it takes about 3 minutes or so )

Could someone be kind enough to guide me how to speed it up?

    I am running a windows version 10 Home (1909)

    CPU is 3.10GHz

Specs info: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

    Thank you

    Not enough info.

More details needed about your CPU and hard drives--model numbers, brand, etc.

Try to fill out more of your system specs.

Can't tell much right now. There are fast computers with 3.1 ghz processors and some not so fast.

Windows does a bunch of housekeeping in the first few days, but I wouldn't expect to see a 3 minute boot time---pending further information.

The Lenovo may have come with a bunch of factory software that may be part of the problem and you may not even want.

    More details.

Is it slow even after boot?

Hi im sorry for not providing enough details, I wasn't sure what was needed and how do i find out the quickest way to do hard drive checks, model numbers, etc? Would this help? Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Also, the computer runs fine, after it boots up....but im not sure why it takes long 3 minutes to start.

A Google search of your model number yields the following specs.

You should enter as much of this info as possible into your system specs at the lower left of your posts, just as you did when you entered "3.10 GHz" and "Lenovo A340".

The pic you posted says you have an i3-9100T.

Oddly, the spec sheet below says the 9100T is an i5, not an i3.

I think the spec sheet is wrong. I think the 9100T is an i3. Quad core.

You have 8 GB of RAM.

Hard drives unknown. The spec sheet says you could have a slow 5400 rpm hard drive, or a much faster SSD.

Which do you think you bought?

You could find out with a program such as Speccy, a free download from Piriform.com.

This CPU was introduced about a year ago, should be a decent performer.

You could certainly do a clean install of Windows 10 any time you want, but I'd hold off on that for now. You need to find out if this slow boot persists for days and days.

Assuming that "HDD" is a 5400 rpm, as per the spec sheet, I would expect a slow boot.

It's anybody's guess what Lenovo set this up to load during the boot process. Quite possibly a bunch of unnecessary stuff.

You need to investigate that with Task Manager "startup" tab.

    That's just a first guess.

Windows early housekeeping may also be a factor.

Or you could return the whole mess and get one of the models with an SSD.

I will give it a few more days....the guy who sold it to me told me it was a fast processor ( clearly lied to me lol ) and ive read pretty good reviews on it hence why i agreed to buy it.

Also, how could i check what actually loads up on start up?

Thank you and sorry for the silly questions
