How I Free'd Almost 150GB From HDD

I have seen CCleaner offer Google Browser and Google Toolbar but you can opt out. So Fredc, what other toolbars are being installed?
I don't have Chrome and see no other toolbars on my browsers.

No Mike lol, i said download from Eset direct , downloading from Eset is the way to go , i think it's the only place you can download Eset online scanner from .

I also said i do not download from download sites in general except "Bleeping Computer", download sites to me are Cnet etc...

Again , there are no check boxes for the full version , you CANNOT OPT OUT , i agree with you about Eset being overly aggressive and other scanners being programmed to not detect them but there are still toolbars being installed whether they effect anything is another debate .

CCleaner sometimes offers Chrome which is easy to opt out and they had opt out options of the google toolbar in the past , things have changed , it is no longer the way it used to be , toolbars will be installed if you download the exe programs and you cannot opt out .

Thats why people who are aware of this are complaining , most people ARE NOT aware of this at all .

What ESET may be detecting is temporary files which enable the optional program to be downloaded if the check box is selected, not the program itself because the installer silently installed it without your permission.

Google Chrome would be more than 4 files, and the version offered in installers is not specially crafted to tell antiviruses, "Hey, I'm a P-U-P!" That's for sure.

Moving on but CCleaner forums and Eset forums will tell the real story if anyones interested .

I get pop up ads from MS to upgrade Office.

JRT is excellent as well , i use Sandboxie which has kept me clean for years , it automatically deletes everything upon exit unless i decide to save something .

I will gladly start using Edge when it will allow apps to be installed, but won't even look at it again till then. That is my biggest complaint about Edge. :)
