    What memory RAM config?

    ASUS p6x58d_prm board. with triple channel architecture

    I have by slot
    1 2gb 533mhz
    2 4 gb 667mhz
    3 2gb
    4 4gb
    5 2gb
    6 *8*gb 800 mhz (added today...seems stable

    so,
    3x2gb 533
    2x4gb 667
    1x8gb 800

    CPU - Z shows 12gb of memory
    Win - shows 12gb of memory w/4 slots used.

    So I guess it's reading the 1st 4 slots 2+4+2+4 = 12

    Honestly it's a pita getting in this heavy ass PC so I don't want to just flip RAM around hoping for the best. Hoping someone will have some advice. IDK maybe this old board has something wrong with it or one of the 2gb sticks doesn't work.

    * I will run mem86 tonight

    Can't say if this applies to your board but what I see here the 8GB module is not supported:

    For such an old pc...it really does well. I do have a 1060vid card and when MS updates it will cause problems until I update the vid driver.
