    Files loading slowly, Graphics slowest

    Winver: 21H2 /19049 /1526
Working with Intel NUC i7-8809G 3.10ghz. 16GB memory. 2 1GB SSD. 1TB desktop drive. Radeon VegaM GH graphics.
After the NUC started life as a champion performer, the system is slowing down. Large graphics can take as long as 10 seconds to load. Long text documents are also slower, but acceptable. Loading works in all cases, but very slowly compared to what I'm used to.
What steps can I take or what resources can I use to diagnose the situation?

This all depends on how well you maintans your OS?

If it's long time since you last time reinstalled system and if you don't care much about "cleanliness" then likely your system is bloated with stale data and enlarged registry which all together slows it down.

Another cause that surely breaks system is if you use driver updater programs, registry cleaners, uninstallers and similar crapware.

If you install pirated games and software and overal if you often install\uninstall programs that will slow down your system.

If you're willing to troubleshoot the problem instead of reinstalling windows first step is to update drivers with original versions from vendor site of your computer, download all drivers manually and update as needed.
See if driver updates make it any better.

    Cleaning up my act.

A majority of my photo and doc files are on the SSD's I have never used "trim" on them. Not sure I know how to.
I will do a major manual bloat reduction.
I've also never tried reinstall. Will that eliminate non-windows data? I can do a global backup to a large hard drive in advance, but what will I be left with?
Apologies for being dense on these topics. Guess I just let data pile up without being aware of it.
Thanks to both of you for your replies.
