    Windows.old

I was assured that windows.old would be deleted in 10 days. I didn't believe it as this has never worked before under any windows. It is still here 2 months on.
I now have Windows10Upgrade. Will this disappear in 10 days?

    I presume this = Windows.old.

I guess you mean you have now received the 1803 Windows build feature update.

The normal experience is that Windows.old is deleted automatically.
If that does not happen, then you can follow this:
Delete Windows.old Folder in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

    Noting from that:
If you already had a C:\Windows.old folder in the installation that you performed a refresh, upgrade install, or a custom install on, then it may be renamed to say C:\Windows.old.(1) (older previous installation) in addition to the latest C:\Windows.old folder. The most recent previous Windows installation will always be in the C:\Windows.old folder.
    - is that in any way relevant to your PC, which might explain why you're seeing something like Windows.old left over?

No. I used to be able to right click and hit delete. As this is a stand alone private computer and I am the administrator then WHY NOT?

This happened to me on one of my computers, I ended up with 2 Windows.old folders I cant remember - I think the second one was named Windows.old2 or something like that.

I used CCleaner to get rid of them.

AFAIK....you've never been able to right click and just delete the windows.old folder. With windows, there is a convoluted process to delete that folder. See here.......

I've always used Ccleaner to remove it.

There is a feature now called Storage and a link to free up space now. The option to delete the windowsold folder works great, just takes a little time to free up the 26GB of space. You can find this under the System settings.

I suppose I could borrow another hard disk and boot from that. The original hard disk would not have an active partition and it could be deleted. I have hit the delete key on windows 7 and it did work. What is microsoft playing at?
