Cant get my PC or laptop to sleep/wake to schedule

I just wany my PC & laptop (both on win 10 x64) to sleep at 8PM and wake up at 6AM. Sometimes the laptop does but I dont think the PC ever has yet.
    In Power Options I have:
Turn off the display: 10 mins
Put the computer to sleep: Never

In Advanced Power Settings I have:
    Sleep After: Never
    Allow hybrid sleep: Off
    Hibernate after: Never
    Allow wake timers: Enable

I then have set a scheduled task to run a batch file containing:
    Rundll32.exe Powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Sleep

And another scheduled task to run a batch file containing:
    Wake Up!

    Any help appreceiated, thanks!

Is the schedule supposed to override the power settings? Did not realize that could be done.

Did you set the account that the scheduler items are supposed to run as? The scheme it uses may be the key. Running it as a system scheduled item might help it override better.

The machines generally tend to go to sleep (though not always), waking up is the real problem. Also Im not sure if they are actually going to sleep, sometimes on waking them manually, they seem to have been powered off (running programs need to be restarted etc.)

Can you guide me some more on changing the user accounts, I see a whole bunch in the Task Scheduler, Administrator, Administrators etc.

Would love to, but on my phone right now, and it is 5am here. I will check back later this morning, if no one has replied, I will.

I turn my computer completely off at the end of the day, but I have the BIOS set to turn the computer back on at 4am. The Task Scheduler worked for a while, but stopped for some strange reason.

Sorry about the late reply. Getting on my computer to find appropriate links to explain what I was talking about.

OK, I found a basic tutorial on how to do that from Lifehacker. I'm assuming you've gone about and set yours up like this?

How Can I Start and Shut Down My Computer Automatically on a Schedule?

If you already have the run with highest privileges checked, post back, and I'll make a small tutorial on how to make it run as a different user.

One more thing to note - if you have other task scheduler items that run during the time the computer is scheduled off, you might want to change those items to either disabled or else run before shutdown or after startup.

Also, there is a slightly different way posted here: 4 Boring Tasks You Can Automate With the Windows Task Scheduler
