You can download the Windows 10 iso-esd from Windows 10 Info if you need it. Windows 10 ISO Download - Windows 10 Forums

Really once you get everything installed software wise. I would just make a image backup of the hard drive using something like Clonezilla or EaseUS Todo workstation. That way if something goes bad. You can just reimage the drive with the backup and not have to spend three or four days putting all of the software and updates back on the drive.

Make yourself a recovery cd and a backup image on a external hard drive or another partition however test it to make sure the image can be read, if not enable system restore and windows backup. Note windows backup can be turned off once the image can be read.

Thank you . does that mean that the original recovery discs can now be dumped?

I would just keep them for now I can't see them taking up much space, although I have read that they will no longer work, I would be tempted to try them out as long as I had a current system image to restore as I have read that they will no longer work but that's just me.

I use Veeam Endpoint Backup. You can also use Veeam to create a full image of your PC with just a couple of clicks.
