If you are so security wise, I am sure you already have all the protection needed like:
Secure DNS servers, anti-malware browser extensions, URL checker, not to mention AV.
I can click on any link I want and I have no AV, no firewall, so I do not really think about it.

If you do not trust people on this forum, why even being here?
I do not know your skills and knowledge. Some forums have cowboys. I have certainly had some inaccurate advice from some who feel they are really knowledgeable (say, in their circle of friends). So I have to check the story from different sources. Like I was asking for street directions in a foreign country!

Here's an example...I am interested in FileHippo (cos someone said it's an easy way to upgrade apps that might have lost function after upgrading to W10).

I looked at that page you linked to, and it also features FileHippo App manager 2 beta....should I download it....or
    >The page graphics look flaky, like from DIY kit, the kind some Malware spreaders use.
    >Just below FileHippo App manager 2 beta, it features Everest 2.2. Which I thought was discontinued. Sure enough, if you examine that, the feature page was created on or before 2006! The software is pre-2007!
    >So, should I download anything?
    >How's the F.H.A.M.2 beta download looking now?
    >Who would make a site like that?

Finally: Given all the above, how reliable are the answers you pointed to?

See how there can be a trust issue? (not about you, but about due diligence)

You are really making something out of nothing. I just posted a link to a software like people do dozens of times in various threads, just someone had a bad morning, so decided to pick on me.

That program is well known for years now, I used it a lot except I like downloading programs from MajorGeeks.

Monkey see, monkey do. That's a habit that needs to stop, how about I post this with no explanation of what it is: Linktoapage.

    You see the point here?

From me, its nothing personal, I just think you should have explained what the link was pointing to.

    Sorry if you took offense.

Not really, people like me or you can click on anything and for others, they want a easy to use solution.
Let say someone has corrupted Windows, what shall I do, post bunch commands, to run as admin, like:

    fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\
    fsutil usn deletejournal /d /n c:
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
    sfc /scannow
    Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    sfc /scannow
    Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase
    pause

It is easier just to post a batch file and tell him to run it as admin, some even fail at that.
People like you know, how to open it and look at commands, so as you can see, no problem.
