Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
a) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
b) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
c) sfc /scannow
d) chkdsk /scan
e) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

The scannow , restorehealth, chkdsk can be run regularly to check the operating system, component stores, and drive file system regularly.
If the restorehealth command had failed or if there were problems with corruption the next step would be an in place upgrade repair.

If not already doing so make a backup image with any of these free software versions:
Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Macrium, Paragon, etc.
Macrium is widely used on Ten Forums.
There is a tutorial on how to recover the files in case there are unforeseen problems such as malware, ransomware, operating system and registry corruption, failure to boot, etc.

in place upgrade repair"? Is that referring to the windows "reset" option in windows "Settings"?
