I must say that I've noticed some slowdowns on both my laptops since 1803 got installed. I don't know if it's because of Windows itself or maybe it has something to do with all the Spectre/Meltdown things going on lately. I haven't checked if my system is patched for those, but it could be the reason.

My temps seem to be slightly higher, for no apparent reason. Even backed off the OC from 4.8 > 4.7. Same. Ambient is still cool in the office ~68°F. Fans are the same speed.

The big April Update caused my boot-up time to slow significantly. (I turn my HP Pavilion Desktop off cold every night)

Used to boot up in 55-65 seconds. Now it takes 140 to 175 seconds. When the desktop finally appears, the icons are all blank. After another 15 seconds they start filling in..2 or 3 at a time, until all 40 (est) icons are complete. Edge and Firefox browsers are still fast on open and page loads, as always.

I think Windows-10 is becoming too "heavy" for my 9 year old computer, even though it has 8gig of RAM and a 1 Terrabyte hard drive that is only 30% filled.

Will visit this thread periodically to see if any helpful suggestions are posted.

Same here boot up takes longer and icons filling after 5-10 seconds

@fs1 - may be something as simple as a sick icon cache. This only takes a minute or 2 to do, and may speed up those icons. Rebuild Icon Cache in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

I compared performance of v1709 & v1803 in vmware, same configuration but big difference in boot-up speed, processor utilization, firefox startup etc. v1803 is much much slower in virtual environment. I will probably never upgrade my physical home systems to this build.
