It's setup to an offset of -105 which puts the voltage at 1.332v. Xmp does. It change core voltage.

If the core voltage changes, your temps will change. Core Voltage = Heat. If your core voltage significantly changes, your temps will significantly change. It sounds to me like you are putting a lot of stress on the memory controller (located inside the CPU) by running the ram at 3200MHz. That makes the CPU harder to overclock and maybe requires a lot more voltage.

Without a lot more info it is really difficult to tell for sure, but that is my WAG right now. But, @Dude is correct. 20°C is a big change. A lot more than would normally be expected.

I don't know if any of that helps you at all. But, without a lot of testing, that is my best guess right now.

What's making the heat spike is solely the ram voltage. My ram is species at 3200mhz 1.35v. I managed to reduce the voltage to 1.280v 3200mhz and that brought temps down. If I keep xmp enabled but reduce frequency and voltage to 2133 and 1.2, temps are normal again. But as soon as I change the voltage to 1.21v for the ram, temps shoot up again.

I've never known Ram Voltage to cause CPU Temp spikes.

Thays what I'm saying, I think there is a hidden setting in my bios that it's automatically setting when I touch the ram
voltage. Probably has something to do with the memory controller. In the end, my max gaming temps with a warm room is in the 40s and spoke to low 50s

so the only reasonable way to solve this is to set my ram at 2800mhz and 1.2v.

thats the only way to keep the temps "normal"

so the only way to solve this is to keep voltage at 1.2v and clock the RAM to 2800MHz... you guys think its worth it? everyday use and gaming im getting temps between 30-50C.

Well this is just an Opinion why not let the paste cure for a few days before overclocking you reseated the Heatsink

Also if it is on XMP the voltage shouldn't make anything go higher or lower

i also told you to get a decent oc without too much stress use a combination of BLK and core ratio or just it core ratio and leave the blk alone

lastly is this board a overclocking board ? because you say it's a fatality board but doesn't hold voltage correctly i would swap it or see if you can oc without the Blk
