My current temps running a 5 year old Sandy Bridge i7 2600k overclocked.
Sandy is a beast! One of Intel'sbest CPU ever, they have had a hell of a run.

Nice temps, I'm sad now that I look at my old Sandy build sitting there in its old case since I built a new rig, so I will revive my Sandy build by buying a new case, a few mechanicl HDD's and use it as my NAS/Backup server since that beast served me so well for 4 years.

speccy reports my cpu at 48c when a game has been playing but has been unfocused or tabbed to the taskbar for 20+ seconds, during the day when ambient room temps reach ~35c~, during load, it will sit at 66-70c under load, this is after cleaning 3 years of gunk from under the cpu's fan which lowered my temps by 5-10c when idle or low workload, max temp is nearly the same, my 4670k is oc'd to 3.7ghz right now but im using it in fixed mode with the dynamic overclocking off, so speccy actually reports it as 3.6 ghz hopping to 3.7 for what seems to be 2/3rds of every second which i think has to do with the design of the chip itself. when i've tried 4.0 ghz(not seriously since i know i have inadequate cooling for such) it seems locked at 3.8 ghz with those intermittent jumps to 4.0 like the 3.6-3.7 ticks.

besides that im underclocking and undervolting my gpu and vram during the day because its temps are 2-5c higher than the cpu and i think when it gets near 75c it begins to auto throttle and can even hard shutdown the whole pc, i had to use msi afterburner to modify the default fan speed settings because they would let even the lightest loads climb the gpu temp to 80c+, without engaging the fan beyond 50% power... the stock cooler on this video card has been known to be underwhelming but im not going to leave it behind until i also upgrade the cpu cooler and my case in general, i believe the real problem with high temperatures is sensitivity to physical and electrical shock, which leads to the shortened longevity as even the vibrations from a high rpm fan could be disturbing critical materials inside the boards as ive had high temp hardware run for 5+ years without issues.
