Samsung 1TB SSD Listed for £185 on Amazon UK Today

Amazon UK have the Samsung 1TB 850 EVO SSD listed at £185 until midnight tonight. I've been following the prices of these on Amazon for a few months and they've been around £240-£245 for a while, so seems like a fair price if you're after one.

Nice price. I have that and the 2tb model. I think I paid £245 for the 1tb one some months ago.

Well, it was whilst it lasted. Looks like they've sold out pretty quickly and the price has gone up to over £270 with p&p now.

    Hi there

You might be able to source these in Germany or Holland -- they often have decent kit over in those countries and with the EUR at a lowish level vs GBP / USD you gain on the currency too. You'll still have to pay VAT and postage but cheaper than UK - you'll probably get billed in EUR though.

I'm not actually sure why I'd want a 2TB SSD - most of my large files are multi-media and provided your home network is fast enough / decent broadband any decent "Spinner" is perfectly suited to storing and sharing multi-media files.

Not sure how an SSD would stand up to the rigours of several remote uses accessing and streaming the multi-media files and also with multi-media libraries updating regularly.

For an OS --SSD great - I find the sweetspot is a 256GB model -- cheap (very) and big enough for the OS and programs.

    Cheers
