Message in Windows 10 activation needed after new Pc build

I have had to buy a new license as I cant use windows on hold drive but my new hard drive is not showing on This Pc,however when checking in the Bios it is listed. is this because there are no programmes on it.It is a New type Hybrid drive with no Jumpers on it ? I hope I have explained my problem properly.

Hello there,is a letter assigned to that drive?Check Windows explorer under manage...

Go to command prompt and type diskpart then list disk

then see if you can see your disk. Hopefully you can identify it by its size.

If so select it and display any partitions.

At this point you have either identified your disk and partition or not.

If you have just type select partition 2 (or whatever number) and then assign letter=k (or whatever letter you want). You'll then be able to see it in file explorer.

Partition 2 is now the selected partition.

DISKPART> assign letter=k

DiskPart successfully assigned the drive letter or mount point.

If you cant see the disk with list disk then your Windows can do nothing with it.
If you can see it but list partition shows nothing then you need to format it.

I don't think the drive will show up in Windows Explorer, or have a drive letter assigned to it, unless it has been partitioned. If it's just a raw new drive it will only show up in bios. It should show up during the Windows install, however, at which time you can either manually partition the drive or allow Windows to partition it. If it is attached to the computer as a secondary drive, rather than the primary drive, you can access it, partition it, format it and assign a drive letter to the new drive in Windows Disk Management.
