    Semi custom build died

So after 4 years my build keeled over. I bought a HP 4-5 years ago while in college for school work. Came with a dual core athlon, 4 gb ram, and onboard graphics.

About a year after, upgraded the CPU to a phenom II x4 850 quad. Added SSD as boot drive, 16 gb g skill ripsaw ram, and a geforce 650 ti. Only thing left stock was mobo and case. Win 10 ran beautifully.

Stock mobo finally gave out. I'm assuming mobo because it started sounding funny. Them one morning I powered up and it just beeped. Reboot got to hp bios screen, froze. It was just a cycle, but could never get past bios.

So I guess I'll salvage everything and throw them into a new mobo. What's nice is this new one will support fx 8 core when I'm tired of this phenom quad.

How do you know for sure it's the motherboard? You didn't mention upgrading the PSU. What's your PSU?

Sorry I assumed when I said only mobo was stock it was implied. But I do have a 500w power supply.
