Well I got some news to finally post here againNotice: This is an old thread. The last post was 98 days ago. If your post is not directly related to this discussion please consider making a new thread.
My Maximus X Hero board now has a new BIOS update being offered, and I'll install it this weekend
Information
Version 2603 Beta Version
2021/04/15 10.45 MBytes
ROG MAXIMUS X HERO BIOS 2603
"- Add Resizable BAR support for Nvidia RTX 30 series cards to potentially deliver more performance to gamers in select titles.
Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (M10H.CAP) using BIOSRenamer.
Please note that this is a beta BIOS version of the motherboard which is still undergoing final testing before its official release. The UEFI, its firmware and all content found on it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. ASUS does not give any warranties, whether express or limited, as to the suitability, compatibility, or usability of the UEFI, its firmware or any of its content. Except as provided in the Product warranty and to the maximum extent permitted by law, ASUS is not responsible for direct, special, incidental or consequential damages resulting from using this beta BIOS."
If any one else do it too, make sure you still have a copy of your last BIOS, and your board has the BIOS Flashback® button
I just installed the new bios and was going to reset my overclock settings, but decided to run at default for awhile since the new bios is still beta. I don't notice any difference from my previous overclock (was only overclocked to 4.9) so wondering if I should bother overclocking again. Any advice? Thanks
Thanks Cliff. I might try those settings. Haven't run mine at 5GHZ before. Where are the offset settings located and the VCCIO etc. I have so many pages printed out for the bios settings....lol
