I think it may be my D-Link DIR-865L router too. It supports IEEE 802.11ac (draft) and I wonder if the draft ac is the same as the final product. I don't hold much hope for D-Link producing new firmware anytime soon so I guess if I want to test this out I need to buy a new router.

    Communication Apps

    Hi,
I upgraded my ageing Dell Inspiron 530 desktop PC this morning from Win7 Ultimate to Win10 Pro. The PC is connected to the router via ethernet cable.
Seeing the comments about VPN connections, etc... I thought my problem might be some of the many communication programs that were still on my computer after my upgrade. I removed GoToMeeting, FreeConferenceCall, Skype, Join.me and a few other programs. When I restarted my computer, I was once again connected to the network and the internet. Now, I hope it still works when I reinstall the apps.

    Widespread problem

From reading other forums on this subject, it is pretty widespread, my own problems with this didn't start until I got the November update. Numerous theories abound as to what's causing it but as yet I haven't found one solution that works permanently.
MS seem to think its something to do with having a VPN installed when the free upgrade to WIn10 was installed, but that was not my case. Mine was a clean install on an empty SSD.
I am leaning towards something interfering with the WLAN Autoconfig service. Restarting it (as well as fiddling with other network bits) is the only way i can regain an internet connection. The network troubleshooter tells me the service was not running, but when i look in MSC, it shows as running on Automatic.
In addition, sometimes it drops just the internet connection beyond the router, other times it drops the whole thing ie even connection to router. Very frustrating problem. Anyone got any ideas on this one?

    Also

Further to the above, I don't run dhcp, every device on my home network has a dedicated ip address. Sometimes when I get the dropout, I find there have been spurious DNS entries added to the properties of the Broadcom WLAN adaptor properties. Weird!
I've also reverted to the WLAN adaptor driver that came with Bootcamp back in July, but to no avail.

Limited Connection to Wi-Fi after Windows 10 upgrade

    Hi everyone!

Recently I updated my Dell Inspiron to Windows 10. I am not able to connect to internet through Wi-Fi after that even though it is connecting via LAN Cable. In the last so many days I gave enormous search for finding the solution with no success.

I found some threads indicating to disable "Block Internet Connection Sharing" in Bit Defender but I am not using Bit Defender.

I am using Windows Defender and am unable to find any setting to disable such item.

Kindly help me with it. :)

    Thanks in advance,
    Shubham

After upgrading to Windows 10 this morning (a forced upgrade), I lost my wifi connection. I was shocked to see alot of people have this problem, but no solution anywhere. I was within 1 minute of throwing the SP3 into the fish tank when i decided to check out the device manager one more time.

Device Manager - Network Adapters - Marvell Avastar Wireless AC Network Controller - double click - Drivers - click the DISABLE button - than click the ENABLE button. All works fine - that fast.

I thought I would post here in the hope that it helps someone else along the way,

Lesson - don't throw your SP3 into the fish tank.
