Some more info on this, from my perspective:

Yesterday I uninstalled Office 2016 and installed Office 2010 and patched that, but still got the issue this morning.

I got the issue after unlocking my workstation. I don't know if this is relevant, but I didn't manually lock my computer; windows locked it after the 10 minute default it's currently set to.

Another update: I can confirm that whatever is causing the issue is appearing to forget my credentials.

We have an intranet website that authenticates off of each user's current windows account. When I go to this site after the issue, the website continues to ask me for the credentials; windows doesn't remember them.

Unlocking my domain account then locking/unlocking my workstation does resolve this issue, at least until the next time it happens.

Did you install the beta 2 version like I suggested?

No, as I had installed Office 2010 to try that. However, given that's not working, either, I might as well put it 2016 back on and I'll update to that.

    Hello,
I have similar problem. My domain account locks from time to time. I just upgraded from W8.1 to W10.
I tried many steps to solve this but none is working.
I found out some interesting things. Using a tool "Account Lockout Status" I found that Last Bad Pwd value is changed when I enter credentials after computer automatic or manaul screen lock out.
I can work normally if I do not get a message about "Windows needs your current credentials":

If I get this message and do nothing - account very quickly locks out.
If I do quick screen lock and unlock it will go ok for some time.
Very strange. I replicate the problem of Last Bad Pwd value using another PC with W10. Some other users in domain are ok some same as mine.
Something wrong with specific users and Windows 10 combination..

I just installed Windows 10 Enterprise RTM on my office computer (clean install). I, too, am having this issue. As others above me, it seems the issue occurs after unlocking my workstation after it's been locked for some time. When I leave at the end of the day, I lock my machine. Per Account Lockout Status and EventCombMT, the bad passwords don't start coming in until I unlock my PC the next morning.

I use Office 2013 and Lync/Skype for Business. I was thinking it was Skype related so I disconnected the last time I left but issue remained. I'm going to try closing all apps next time.

There are other users in my office up upgraded to Win 10 and they don't have an issue. So far I'm the only one with this.

On a side note, there's a similar post about this on the official MS forums. I would suggest everyone post their troubles there as that may get more attention from MS.

I also started a case in MS Partner forum. This bug prevents as to roll out updates to our customers. It should be clear how to solve it without crazy workarounds (like adjusting lock out policy). I guess we will see some hotfix stuff in the near feature:)

I started a case but I'm not confident in their ability. The tech I have is under the impression the issue is isolated to my specific workstation just because I don't have another Windows 10 instance with the issue in my environment (note I only have 2 total!). I have referenced this thread, the one on the official forum, and even the built in Windows Feedback tool whereby many people are citing the issue. His response is "oh, they are working on that".

At any rate, we're still "troubleshooting". If you get different results, please share!
