no IPv6 connection -websites load very slowly

I noticed late last night..no IPv6 connection, only IPv4. and from that, some web pages load very slowly. I checked download /upload speed and registered very abnormal results. download: 5.25% and upload: 1.90% the normal stats would be download: 95.78% and upload: 6.88% -something like that. any clues to what is going on? of course comcast is to blame.

Most likely because your provider does not use 6 over 4 Tunneling. The only thing that uses IPv6, is Home Group and that is only on the Local Network. As for being slow, you need to put up a copy of your speedtest from speedtest.net with the best server (try to use AT&T's) for the test. Also you can run IPv6 test - IPv6/4 connectivity and speed test, which will let you know how well your ISP allows IPv6 connections over their network. Some web browsers like Chrome will come back with an error. Ignore it.

greetings bro. speedtest shows typical download/upload speed within normal parameters...earlier today, when problem was first detected, the speeds were drastically below normal

dont see image? it was 95.05mbps download and 6.05mbps upload

IPv6 test seems to be not supported..odd this, i thought before this occured, ipv6 was in use....both ipv4 and ipv6 were active.

There is a code that you need to copy when you have speedtest finish. You want the "Embedded" for your test. Choose "Image" and then pic the Image icon above the body of the post to get a result like this. My speed runs high for U-Verse, because of the cards that I have and it is a clean line. As for the IPv6 test, is there a setting in your Gateway to enable or disable it, or are you just using from the computer? What is the manufacturer & model of Gateway that you have. Mine is a Arris/Motorola NVG589. My network is actually behind a "Edge" router, that is a Cisco RV320, which does not cause any issues with how it is setup.

This is just for comparison for you. no IPv6 connection -websites load very slowly-5860608341.png

You have great speeds, so we know that it is not a speed issue. Your Netgear is supposed to support IPv6. There are alternatives to the base Netgear Firmware. Netgear WNDR3400v3 - WikiDevi

Can you connect directly to the ISP provided modem/Gateway and run the IPv6 tests. Also if you are running any kind of third party security software, it can block the tests from running properly. Use these Command line tools to check for IPv6 on the suspect machine. Using Windows Tools to Obtain IPv6 Configuration Information

High demand times will cause Cable Internet connections to slow drastically. Check with Speedtest at different times of the Day and Days of the Week. In a residential area Your speeds on a Saturday afternoon will be no where close to what they are on say a Monday during work hours. Comcast is one of the worst and will actually throttle during peak periods.

greetings. i can connect directly with isp using my own modem and router. IPv6 results still say unsupported blaa blaa. also, looking at current speeds and page loading, live music streaming -all seems normal now. i swear i was using IPv6 last week and now no more. and yes, bat1 comcast is sneaky, when i first got this pc online in july, they tried to over throttle speed! and yes, speed slows down alot during late night hours..and faster early in morning. and mediocre to neutral speeds during afternoon times. iam not seeing a resolvement in this problem, unless! i find an easy way to get IPv6 back. cheers guys

That is no longer the case with the way they have taken the load off of the nodes with now using Fiber to them. The biggest reason that there is not an issue with loads, is that they have been able to use more QAM channels, since they have taken out the analog channels and also using IPTV for OnDemand.

You may have if your ISP was working on getting load off of the IPv4 side. There are two tools from Farbar that deal with the LAN. You can download them from Publisher page for Farbar You want Mini Toolbox and Service Scanner.

Now if you are using Slimjet and only seeing the issues with that one browser. Try another. There are some lighter weight ones built off of Firefox and Chromium. Waterfox is a 64-bit browser built off of Firefox and is pretty fast in handling things.
