Make a new connection to another win10 pc, asks for user and pass?

I log into that PC using a PIN number, so what do I use for a password?
Can I change the password if I dont remember it?

This is is my house with my PC's on my local network.
And for some reason, it cant see 2 other win10 PC also on my same network, and it used to be able to do that.

I suppose there is some way to make them discoverable?

Using a PIN certainly doesn't make the password redundant- indeed there are several circumstances where you would be prompted for your password irrespective of having set a PIN.

Thinking this is so is, unfortunately, a mistake some make.

Networking is somewhat fraught in Win 10: you can start by reviewing settings and permissions here and via related tutorials:

I put up with moving a few files around with a usb drive, but sometimes I want to watch recorded TV on different PC .

Too bad OS's don't have a dedicated share folder that is up by default and is isolated from the OS securely and is easy.

Thank you for your reply. You can specify which folders are shared. That will vary from user to user, as will the permissions attached to such a folder.

What is needed is a simple reliable wizard method to configure sharing- MS dispensed with that.

The other issue is the workaround needed so you don't have to wait for validly confgured shares to become visible.

MS could definitely do a lot better here.
