Windows 10 DNS problems / internet dropping
Hi, I've started getting this problem recently where my internet on just my desktop has started to randomly drop every now and again. It started this week and has been happening ever since. I am using a TP-Link AV500 Powerline Adapter through ethernet for my tower. I've had this problem since I started using them on my PC even when it had Windows 7. But it's different than it is now. Before, it would drop, and the "No Internet Access" would appear down the bottom right, and it wouldn't come back until I plugged the internet adapter in and out. This happened with the first Powerline Adapter I had before too, it was a Devolo product, so I'm 99.9% sure it's not the adapter.
Basically, I'll be surfing the internet, then internet drops, Chrome starts saying it's a "DNS drop, etc." If I diagnose the problems, it says "Local Area Connection IP is not valid" "Gateway IP, etc." I get Event 1014 in Event Viewer too when I'm trying to click other sites. But unlike before, it comes back about 60 seconds later. I can plug it in and out, but makes no difference. Down the bottom right the Yellow Warning sign doesn't appear, but there's no internet.
I really need this fixed because when I'm doing races or games that might take 60 minutes, there's always a chance I'll get booted because this thing just drops itself.
Now I've had this problem, since I started using Powerline Adapters, but now the problem has changed slightly. I did notice that the problem did slightly change after my desktop updated itself with a Windows Update on Wednesday, it's been happening ever since then. Although it's happened for the last 2 years, but wasn't as much of a problem as it is now because it's happening every hour or so compared to once a day before this.
I've been on Windows 10 for about 4 months, but the newer version of the problem's only started since the update.
Hopefully I can get a hand with this because it's become a real pain
