I had to unplug my netgear router to replace a bad wall receptacle and when I restarted it, I got the "unidentified network no internet access". I spent most of 4 hours trying to solve why my ethernet connection was not working - resetting the router and typical things including Google searching and finding many references to resetting this and that - downloading this and that - uploading and reinstalling drivers - and nothing worked. Finally, I run across a thread on this site with the same problem - the poster then said he checked his cable connection and that was at fault!!!!! I did the same thing and found that my ethernet cable was at fault and did not show up until I moved the router - dang, the moral of the story is as others have said - check the simple things first!!!! Just glad I found the posting that helped me before I called an IT consultant to work on my system.
