What does netsh winsock reset does and why it fixes Google Chrome?

    Hello,

Every month or so comes a time where Google Chrome will stop working, I had a post about it here but no solution was found, until I found a video that shows that you need to run a netsh winsock reset in the command prompt, and it worked

    Why is that?

    Thanks!

Resetting your wireless is not going to fix Chrome. You need to go through your add-ons and find out which ones are the culprit.

All that the reset is doing is flushing the IP Table, Winsock and DNS.

I don't have any add-ons, and this trick is always working

Repair and Reset Windows Winsock (TCP/IP) Catalog Corruption - Tech Journey

Since it happens regularly, something is definitely damaging it, a security software or other?
Though it is strange, that it happens only once a month, maybe an update of something triggers it?

I guess, but if you google it, i.e "Chrome slow loading" or something this style, you'll see I'm not the only one having that problem, maybe it's something to do with Windows 10?

If you disabled all of the add-ins, created a new profile and Chrome still has issues, it is Windows. If it does not, then something with Chrome was the problem.

Also not everyone is having issues with Chrome. If that was the case, Google would be broadcasting it for all to know that the fix is only a day away. Unlike Microsoft who tend to just keep kicking the can down the road, hoping that users will just forget about it.
