    Homegroup

I've used Homegroup before but Windows 10 seems to have given me a problem and looking through various forums I'm not the only one.
Set up homegroup on two laptops, one running windows 10 pro and the other the standard edition. Homegroup shows on both machines in File Manager. On the Pro machine I can open files and add ,delete and copy without problems but on the Std machine only Library Icons are displayed and it is impossible to open any files. All files are set to share read/write. Any ideas out there?

Check this CNET forum thread: it has the best set of potential fixes for homegroup problems I've seen anywhere. I have personally and recently confirmed the fix that Papa_Paul2 documents early on in that discussion. According to what I read about the differences between Home and Pro versions of Windows 10, Homegroup behavior should be consistent across them (and Enterprise, too, FWIW, as my own LAN teaches me through direct observation and experience).
