Unidentified network

    Unidentified network


    Hi, my network connection shows as Unidentified but with Internet access. See screenshot below:
    Also my connection drops frequently and have to reconnect it again.

    Click that "Change adapter settings" on the left side. Then Disable and Enable (Reset) whichever adapter you are using ( Wireless/ Wifi or Ethernet/ LAN). Then restart your PC.

    Hi, Badrobot and thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately the issue is still not resolved. The connection still shows as Unidentified and it disconnects frequently.

    Have you tried the basic troubleshooting procedure? Resetting the modem and router? Just unplug and plug back in again. Do it one at a time and start with the modem first.

    I have tried that numerous times and used the Network troubleshooters.

    Go back to "Change Adapter Settings", then right-click on Wireless adapter and select "Properties", check if the IPv4 is set to obtain IP address automatically:

    If that doesn't fix it, I am out of ideas.

    What about changing it to a private network and then rename it?

    Thanks for your help :) but I have already tried that.
    Edwin I have set it trough gpedit.msc to Private but the connection still shows as Unidentified.
    My biggest problem is that the connection drops very frequently at random times.
