    topgundcp if you clicked on that link, it will state that the "driver" is included with Windows 10, which it is not. The Printer that the OP owns has not been supported by Microsoft, since Vista came out. The End of Life on that printer was actually during Windows XP. It was extended into Vista, because Brother was able to make the driver work long enough for those who upgraded from XP to Vista. After that, it no longer was supported when Windows 7 was released.

    Even with CUPS, that printer will only print, but not be able to use copy & scan functions. It is basically a boat anchor. That means that they will have to buy a new printer if they want one that works with Windows 10.

    Not all Printer drivers are included in the installation media. Even mine (Brother HL-4040CN), you would need to manually add it to the list:

    1. Control Panel->Devices and Printers->Add a Printer
    2. Follow the steps to set up a network printer. At one point, Windows will search for available printer, click on "The printer that I want isn't listed"
    3. Click on "Windows Updates". Windows will start downloading a complete list of Printers.
    4. Select your printer name & model then install.

    EDIT: Just tried to install as a USB printer for MFC-7820N since I don't have this printer to set up as a network printer. The result as shown in the list after clicking on "Windows Update":

    topgundcp you are chasing your tail like a three legged dog. The printer that the OP has, will only print if Windows 10 even loads a generic driver, which it will not.

    Face the facts that the OP is going to have to buy a new printer and use this one for fax & copy with no connection to any computers.

    I don't appreciate this kind of Smart #@$ remark from you. If you cannot help then please don't.
    @Colin E
    I put in an inquiry for you and the company confirmed that your printer will work with Windows 10.
    Here's the links:

    And here's the email I got from the company:

    Again it is has been stated three times already. Windows 10 only loads printing only drivers. The OP needs to buy a new printer, since his has not been supported by Microsoft & Brother since Windows 7.

    As I stated before. You are like a three legged dog, trying to chase its tail, by attempting to prove something that does not exist.

    You just need to let this go, that as already as I and Brother states on their website. There is no way to take full advantage of the printer that the OP has in Windows 10.
