What version of Windows 10 are you using? Windows 10 Home only has Remote Desktop client. You need Windows 10 Pro for the host computer that you want to remote into. I didn't have to mess with Windows firewall at all when I set up remote desktop.

The remote host is the computer you want to connect to, the remote client is the computer from which you are connecting to the remote host.

The remote host must have Windows 10 Pro, Education or Enterprise edition, the remote client can be any edition including Home. This means that you cannot use Windows Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computer which is running Windows 10 Home edition.

Almost any Windows OS can be a Remote Desktop client. There are also clients for Linux, Mac OS, and most smartphones and tablets.

Of course, there are plenty of 3rd party programs including well known Teamviewer which will allow you to remotely connect any device practically to a PC running 10 Home.

Actually, one great feature of Teamviewer is you can do it in reverse eg take remote control of an android tablet if rooted (some models eg Samsung, HTC do not even need to be rooted). I use this to take control of my wife's Samsung when I am away.
