Did you check all the services from the my post #2 above?
Yes. Listed services are running. To reiterate, both computers appear on the desktop PC's network listing, but on the laptop, only the laptop computer is listed in the laptop's network listing. Could I have missed a setting on the laptop?

topgundcp, a question: The services you listed in your post #2 are running, but what should the startup types be for these services? Thanks.

Homegroup will always show even if the service is not running. It is coded into Explorer. Basically all you are seeing is a shortcut to that Network area.

There are ways to tweak those items you do not want to show in Explorer through GPO or the Registry. But you have to be very careful.

Here's a good place for reference for the default startup type:

Not True. Disable the services then it will not show up. Also look at this post:

The issue is that each roll out that Microsoft pushes, they reverse that setting back to default, so that Homegroup will always show in Explorer.

Make sure the "Workgroup" for all computers are set to "Workgroup". Network Discovery has to be running also. The biggest issue is third party Internet Security software and sometimes the Gateway that you are using to connect all computers to to the Internet.

If you go to Searching for farbar and download Service Scanner and Mini Toolbox. Both of those should reset the Services and Network stuff. That is a start. Majorgeeks.com has some good tools in their download repository also for network troubleshooting.

10576 has some issues with the whole networking stuff. Look at Can't see other computers in Workgroup on Windows 10 computer - Windows 10 Forums Post #32 onwards.

Well, it does not happen on every single Windows 10 build I use. And I am currently on 10586 so I don't understand what you are saying.

Read it again. Everytime you do an update to each rollout. It defaults any registry changes and other changes that you may have made.
