I am having the problem seeing all of my networks from File Explorer on two of my PCs but I am not using the Homegroup.

From PC A I can see all three PCs. From PCs B and C, I can see PC B and Cs networks but not PC As network. I did not have this problem before the January 12 update.

Would these changes fix my problem?

I don't know the answer to that but I was having similar problems and the procedure worked for me. It only takes a few minutes to try and does not upset anything else. Good Luck with it.

I made the changes and restarted all of the PCs and all of the networks show up. It takes a while for the laptops to recognize the folders on the desktop (PC A). I guess it is because there are so many of them. But once they connect I can access all of the folders.

Some of the services were already set to Automatic and several services were not running. I did start the ones that were not running after I changed them to Automatic.

Now I will access the various networks tomorrow to make sure all is still okay.

    Thanks for the help.

Tried it for myself, but no luck. Instead I got the following error when trying to join the homegroup.

Originally, Win10 DID DETECT there was another homegroup, then changed it's mind when trying to connect:

    Thanks for solving the problem

Thanks to KRL :) I'm now working!

I'm a computer literate user but once I get into the realms of changing the registry or such like I'm lost. I vaguely understand that the instructions you gave were to automatically start services that hadn't started.

Whether I'm right or not about that doesn't matter, I couldn't access my homegroup options on the desktop and the laptop we have couldn't access the homegroup. Following the instructions you gave, enabled me to re setup the homegroup and reattached the laptop to the homegroup. All looks like its working fine now.

Thanks very much for the information. My only regret is that I didn't find your post three hours earlier.

Can't even get to services msc. All I get is referred to bing web choices. I HATE Win10
I have 3 Laptops on my network and encountered this issue and have spent several days tweaking all sorts of settings and trying many solutions I saw online. Finally one worked and now I can see all 3 Laptops in each panel in the Network section and all 3 Laptops in each panel in the Homegroup section. So everything is back to functioning properly.

This is what worked for me:

Open the services menu by clicking start and then typing 'services.msc' and pressing enter.

Look for the following services in the list:

    · DNS Client
    · Function Discovery Provider Host
    · Function Discovery Resource Publication
    · Peer Networking Grouping
    · HomeGroup Provider
    · HomeGroup Listener
    · SSDP Discovery
    · UPnP Device Host

    1. I reset each of these settings FROM "Manual" TO "Automatic" one by one.

    2. Right after doing each of those changes, I RESTARTED each service.

    3. On two of the Laptops I had to LEAVE the Homegroup and REJOIN it.

    4. I shut down all the Laptops and restarted each back up one at a time, starting with my primary Laptop which was the creator of the Homegroup.

    Everything is displaying perfectly now!

The only other change today was I got this Cumulative Update which updated Win 10 on all 3 Laptops.

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3118754)

I'm not sure if that KB3118754 update had a part in helping fix things or not, but the update did install before things started working again and I did these changes above after the update.

Win 10 is definitely quite a bit of work to maintain compared to prior versions of Windows, and you have to be really tech savvy to know what to do when things stop functioning. I can't imagine how users who don't have tech mind skills are handling it.

Good Luck to those having this networking issue. There are a ton of users experiencing problems, so Threshold 2 definitely has serious networking bugs.

Why is it that I can't even get services msc. All I get is referred to Bing web. I find Win 10 nearly impossible to work with. I wish I still had Win 7. Can Someone help me work through this? Should I use command prompt?

Have you tried holding down the Windows Key and pressing the R key and typing services.msc in the run box?

@copper - or just type SERVICES in the Cortana/Search box? I get a 'best match' to the 'Services desktop app' after typing SER
