How do I find the order number for my VPN license?

I'm having some issues with my antivirus software. Support sent the following request:
Could you send me an order number for your VPN license, please? I will check it onto our reference machine.
I looked at ipconfig and the router user guide but don't know how to find my VPN license or the "order number".

How do I find my VPN license?

Where did you get your VPN software from? You must have entered it when you installed the VPN.

An E-mail you got from them would have the license I would think.

Okay, let me further define my ignorance on this. I know from Googling VPN that it stands for"virtual private network". The only network that I have is the LAN and WiFi that I set up using Windows 10 wizards. Maybe with my router or other hardware/software. I never knowingly installed a VPN apart from setting up my networks, and I never received an email regarding such.

The Avast service tech is trying to figure out why I continue to get popups even though I have configured preferences to not pop them up. He is asking for my VPN license order number.

Should I simply return the email stating that I never ordered a VPN license?? I'm only trying to help him/her to troubleshoot my problem.

You don't have a VPN. That's about all you can tell the Avast tech.

Sounds like a good time to uninstall Avast and use the built-in Windows Defender to me. That along with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium has done a good job of protecting my computer. I also use the free Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.

Thanks Rich. Sounds like good advice. I'm just used to having an external virus protection program. I think that Defender has gotten better and what I read about Win 10 an apparent objective is increasing security, so maybe my Avast isn't adding value.
