    SSH Connection Refused - nt Authority

    I'm trying to get into a win10 box from a linux box. I can get in using a normal user password but when I try to use shh keys I get:

    debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey,password,keyboard-interactive
    debug1: Next authentication method: publickey
    ED25519 SHA256:PUQXc/yiI/p85fdjBVlBS7mmDYgqjHAlsumFM1Y8N34 agent
    ED25519 SHA256:PUQXc/yiI/p85fdjBVlBS7mmDYgqjHAlsumFM1Y8N34 agent
    sign_and_send_pubkey: signing failed for ED25519 "nt authority\\system@DESKTOP-F" from agent: agent refused operation

    Any help appreciated - I'm stuck!

    Just delete the key files ~/.ssh/id_rsa and ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub and the ssh-agent will notice. To prove that you can do ssh-add -l before and after deleting the key files.

    Hi there

    @quarkrad

    Don't forget also if you want to RECEIVE files from your Windows box via SSH you'll need to enable openssh SERVER from the install optional extras on Windows and enable the service -- the openssh client is installed by default so windows should have no problems receiving files from your Linux box.

    To SEND / RECEIVE files when logged on to the Windows box with the Windows GUI why not use Filezilla (you need to have the ssh service running on the Linux box) . If you have a GUI on your Linux box you can also install filezilla - and use krdc / freerdp or whatever to logon to remote Windows box -- but for simple file xfer and those sorts of things SSH is just fine --especially if your Linux box doesn't run with a GUI.

    Cheers
