    Wifi speed on Lenovo laptop

I have a Lenovo laptop with a Broadcom wifi adapter, the upload and download speed has fallen through the floor along with network drops outs.

The laptop is running Windows 10 1909, the laptop is currently running Microsoft wifi adapter drivers, I have downloaded drivers direct from Broadcom but the performance was even worse using the Broadcom drivers. I have checked with the Lenovo web site and according to the driver support I have upto date drivers.

I have checked wifi performance using speedtest.net on my phone sat next to my laptop and I am getting the expected broadband speed. My son has also tested the wifi speed on his PC upstairs and it is only slightly less than expected broadband speed ( to be expected based on distance from the router etc.). My broadband speed is 100+Mbps on average, the laptop is giving just 10Mbps.

Can anybody make any suggestions on what I can do to get the laptops wifi performance back to wear it should be please.

The wifi adapter is 802.11n and is connecting to the router on 2.4Ghz band not the 5Ghz band. Hopefully that is the info your require?

I have tried a couple of things to try and improve the issue, but they have all failed to return the laptops wifi speed back to where it should be.

I removed the wifi adaptor from the device manager along with the driver and rebooted the Laptop, retried the wifi made no difference.

I restored the router back to an earlier config (approx 2 week old) made no difference (cant remember what I did on the router but the router is new (early December) so only have one other config that I made after setting the router up)

Borrowed a TP Link USB dongle (TL-WN823N) and tested that in the laptop, while it made an improvement it still a long way short of where it should be (80Mbps+)

If I ping the gateway\router from the laptop I am getting a 1ms reply, then a 900ms reply, then a 1ms reply, then a 900ms reply and so it goes on.

Signal noise is -56dBm (normally goes up and down but in the 50's)

The router is in mixed mode 11b, 11g & 11n on 2.4Ghz band and 11a, 11n & 11ac on the 5Ghz band, wifi is only picking up the 2.4Ghz band.

Below is a screen grab from issdier, my wifi is web@32

    Any thoughts?

Try fixing your Channel to CH11 which looking at the used channels should be the strongest for you, your setup appears to be a scanning set from 1-11 which in my experience will never give the best results
