Lots of DATA being used by svchost.exe (netsvcs)

    Hi,

After solving a lot driver issues and lagging issues, I got a stable (at least in terms of speed) Windows 10. However, whenever I connect the PC to Internet, svchost.exe started using almost whole speed.

It not just slow down what I wanted to do but also wastes my limited data (yeah, no unlimited pack!). So, can someone help me to stop these processes to use Internet?

    Please help me, thank you!

It is solved after disabling BITS service. Thank you everyone for not responding here.

BITS is most commonly used by Windows to download updates to your system. Good luck ! :)

Oh! Okay thanks for the info! :) I'll enable it while updating Windows.

By the way, I don't think it was due to Windows Update because I had recently updated it and still svchost.exe was using data connection. I had also disabled most of the things in Privacy option.

Also, can you tell me- what else in Windows uses svchost.exe for Internet uses? (it maybe so many but at least let me know the name of programs/services you know). :)

And even after disabling this, another svchost.exe is taking data but in 10 kb/sec (average) while earlier the speed was almost full of what I get.

So, what you think about it?
Be careful of what you remove. Black Viper now has a page on Windows 10 as far as services go. You can Google to find it.

I just disabled it and will enable it back when I wanted to update. By the way, did you meant blackviper. com? Should I follow what is written in that website? Actually, I don't know about it, so try to explain me. :)

Don't disable Windows updates! The chance of 0-day exploits is very high now!

    Instead fix the actual problem:
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Settings - Update & security - Windows Update - Advanced options - Choose how updates are delivered
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Updates from more than one place
    (o) OFF

    (o) PCs on my local network
( ) PCs on my local network, and PCs on the Internet

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have turned off the option- Updates from more than one place. Still it takes too much data. By the way, BITS automatically restarted whenever I restart my PC. And I'll keep my PC up-to-date, than can I keep it disabled when I don't wanted it to use Internet?

Then you need to turn store and metro app updates off. I will post soon an easy to use batch file to turn some underlying services off
