I upgraded to windows 10 my Internet worked fine for awhile but then I went and tried getting on and now it's not working. When I first reboot my computer I see the bars and it says wireless connections available but not comnected. Then after the computer boots completely I get the x in the box and no internet. I'm 100% sure there is no issue with my router/modem because my fiance computer connects with no problem as well as my phone. Please is there anything else to try? If I have to reset windows I will but I would rather not. Also I had Norton 360 installed but Uninstalled because that was one thing suggested.

I have similar kind of problem except that after upgrading to Win 10 wireless was working fine; let me tell some history and symptoms.

It started when I noticed there is a big delay when I want to open network and sharing center and change settings, such as dns server. I tried many solutions I saw on web: virus scans with various antivirus software; trying a repair with sfc/scannow command, resetting tcp/ip protocol etc.; finally decided to reinstall the wireless adapter driver.

The worst part started after, even though I reinstalled it back, and even tried a newer driver, I cannot connect any more over wlan. The point is not the driver; in device manager it shows that the driver is installed and the device is working fine. However, the “hp wireless assistant” says that, when you turn on wifi in it, “it is disabled in the device manager and should be re-enabled there” (I repeated this enabling/disabling several times). The wireless adapter icon in the “network and sharing center” disappeared, so did wifi settings under network section. The connection icon on the right of the taskbar now says there are no active connections (there are). In short, the system somehow “lost its wlan capability”. Some other info that could help in diagnosing: I tried an external wifi adapter to see what happens; even though it seems to be installed in device manager correctly, like the internal one, it doesn’t work. I tried going to safe mode and un/reinstalling drivers. I have connection over ethernet cable. I haven’t installed recently (just before this problem started) something suspicious like vpn or antivirus software, I have always used Microsoft’s security essentials.

It will be so difficult to make a clean install for me at the moment, and even I’m not sure whether it would fix the problem; so I’d appreciate if someone could offer a way around.

No internet when update to windows 10

I had the same issue. I got it fixed by downloading the driver for my wifi adaptor from another computer into a usb and reinstalling the driver to the computer I updated to windows 10. Internet worked right after that. I hope this helps.

Win 7 To Win 10 with no internet service after upgrade:

Go to Settings...Network & Internet...Proxy. Make sure that ONLY Automatic Proxy Setup is enabled.
I tried everything i read on the internet, and even rolled it back to windows 7, then re-installed Win 10.
NOTHING worked. I happened to be looking thru Settings just now, and under Proxy, I noticed that BOTH Automatic Proxy Settings AND Manual Proxy Settings were enabled.
I thought, what the hell, I'll disable Manual Proxy Setup and see what happens. BANG, THAT WAS IT! At least it worked for me, and I hope it might help someone else.

Windows 10 Pro Ethernet connection problem..

Just upgraded to Windows 10, no internet connection. Had no problems before on 8.1.

No network adapters are recognized (Bluetooth, Ethernet, WLAN). Have Atheros Qualcomm AR9485WB.
Device manager says all is OK, but PC settings say no network adapters detected.
I tried to uninstall/install multiple versions of drivers but nothing works.

    Any ideas?
I have same problem, but i found that problem in windows Pro, I tried everything to connect to Ethernet cable but nothing worked, it just connect wireless, so I have another laptop that I have a window 10 Home on it and I did not have any problem, I keep connected by wireless and Ethernet cable at same time, another thing to confirm it is which the driver Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller is the same on both computers, I hope it helps you understand ..

My adapter is gone. After 2 weeks bought a wireless adapter. Doesn't work in Windows 10. I have reset so many times I can't find windows 7. All I have is a html file that says among many programs my adapter is listed. I have tried everything. I am about to bring my computer to Microsoft and burn it.

To start, I have tried everything I have found online.

I have no VPN installed, never have.
I deleted my providers security software for the time being.
I Uninstalled wireless adapters and reinstalled.
    Updated and rolled back drivers.
Attempted to return to 8.1 but it would let me go back that far.
I have an Intel Centrino n2230 wireless adapter.
Brand new linksys router - dual band

I have done netsh reconfigure and every other option

I don't have bit defender. Use Windows firewall with my providers Antivirus.

Nothing and I mean nothing has worked.

I can connect for maybe a minute then i see the yellow ! And I cannot reconnect.

I am frustrated beyond belief and don't know what to do next, short of tossing laptop out a window.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you also have bluetooth on there? Sometimes that has to be fiddled with at the same time, as they affect each other.
I would download the proper drivers for both the wireless adapter and the bluetooth adapter, then, in Device Manager, delete the devices and the drivers (I believe you have that option when deleting), then install the ones you downloaded.

I looked this morning for the drivers for the wireless adapter but there was none I could see for Windows 10. Bluetooth adapter I downloaded and installed, but the latest version for the wireless appears to be windows 8. Am I reading those downloads wrong??

And is that my problem, that my wireless adapter is just not compatible?
