Just seems odd that one computer can access the other, but not the other way around!

ntfs permissions on the actual files and folders in the folder being shared?

I assume so! I've appeared to of done everything I should of. The only options I see are to give 'access to everyone'. I think it's a Windows 10 problem. Always had problems with similar/same problems. In the past I had to disable Firewall on both comps to even get the network working! Just a fault with Windows. I'm not that fussed as don't really use the network an awful lot, anyway. But just curious. I also have a laptop connected. It's the same with that on and off.

On the folder that you are trying to share, right click it and select Properties. On the security tab, do you you see "Everyone" in the top box?

Think I kind of sorted it. Made sure I added 'Everyone' under the folders I wanted to share, and also gave 'full' permission by clicking on advanced sharing.
