    Is MS Office 2021 MS 365 ???

I just ordered a digital download of Office 2021 from my employee discount site. What I got was an exe titled "Microsoft 365 & Office". Nowhere on the offer page does it say anything about it being 365.

I did some searching online and found a Microsoft page that says Office is now Microsoft 356. Is that true? If so, I'm livid because I want nothing to do with 365. We use it at work and I can't stand it.

Please tell me that there is a version of 2021 that does NOT come with 365.

    Click this link:

EDIT: Note that there are different version of Microsoft 365. There are permanent licenses and subscription licenses (just renamed from Office to Microsoft 365 Family, Personal, Business, etc.)

It really depends on the discount being offered. MS 365 is an annual lease deal and you can have up to 6 installations + 1 TB onedrive space for personal version. It is always updated (currently on 2021). You also get up to 30hrs in Teams session rather than the 1 hr limit in free version

This is usually the most common deal - I get 30% off annual lease. The interesting thing is the discount is in perpetuity provide you renew lease EVEN if you change company.

It is not so common these days for companies to offer a discount on the paid versions.

I do not see why you hate MD 365 as it is no different functionally.

Also, paid versions are a one off cost but limited to 1 installation and no version updates to next version.

In the end, your company decides what they are offering as a discount. It seems very unlikely to me they have linked to wrong download but it is more likely the site description is ambiguous, as current version of MS 365 is equivalent to office 2021.

In the end, you have to clarify with your IT dept. I seriously doubt you have any option to select a purchase rather than a lease or vice versa.

Let's throw one more of the Microsoft 365 editions into the mix: The Family version. This also give you about 5 or 6 installations (I can't recall for sure which), and then you can share your subscription with 5 family members who can also install on 5 or 6 systems each. One top of that, every one of those people get their own 1TB of OneDrive storage. Opinions may vary, but I think that is an exceptional value.

Stack Social is affiliated with Ten Forums and ElevenForum.
Best to get it from them.

In fact they just had a deal like you mentioned for $29.97.

This is the product page. As you can see, there's no mention of 365.

By the way, can someone post a link to the account page where the MS Office licenses are registered? - this is the page where licenses are associated with specific PCs. I'm considering moving a license to a different PC, and I'm not sure how to find this page again. TIA
