I can't find microsoft word and excel in start menu

I have Microsoft Word and Excel installed on my laptop, however, I can't find them in my Start menu so every time I want to use them I still need to open an existing word document and press ctrl+n. I have had their shortcuts before so I don't know what happened even though my other microsoft apps such as publisher, one note, and outlook still have their shortcuts.. Advance thank youuu!

    Hi, see this from
"How to Fix Shortcut Icons Missing"
(ignore most of the text before that as it refers to an old issue)

Microsoft Office Icon Missing From Start Menu: Fixed - MiniTool

Please note: this is tenforums for Windows 10 - for Windows 11, please register on elevenforum.com. Thanks!

Another way to start by creating a new document is
    - rt click blank area in folder displayed in file explorer
    - click New
    - click what you want to create

(If the New menu doesn't include what you want you can add to it)

Are you saying they don't appear in the start menu like this. If you can't fix it as suggested in Post #2, then you should reinstall Office.

The Windows 11 Start menu is completely different from the Windows 10 Start menu.
Nothing you might be told here about the Windows 10 Start menu will be of any use to you with your Windows 11 Start menu.
So do as dalchina suggested and go to Windows 11 Forum for your problem.

    Best of luck,

I already knew that the OP had Windows 11 before I posted. The OP's problem is probably not related to which version of Windows he has. In any case a re-installation of Office is probably the easiest way to fix the problem. BTW, I also have Office on my other laptop with Windows 10 but posted screenshot from Windows 11 because that is what the OP has.

I did not realise that was a Windows 11 screenshot.
I have not learnt how to get a Windows 11 Start menu to display in that manner.

The EXE file is probably here:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16
Go there and find Winword then right click on it and select "Pin to Start"
    Do the same with Excel.

Rather sad we didn't get any form of acknowledgement or response. But that's life...
