Well, I'll have to take your word for it. I've NEVER used Office of any kind.
Notepad and Wordpad is about as Office as I ever get.

Why do you think it might not continue to work? Since it appears in the Microsoft account I'd be inclined to trust that it will remain available.

I hope so but the product is mis-advertised which is illegal in the UK and the key supplied is not strictly legal since it is not the retail key advertised.

What is the difference between "Office Professional" and "Office Professional Plus" in terms of the license?

I look forward to the reply you get. Hopefully Ghacks will address this. Are there examples of Microsoft Office licenses initially registering/activating properly and then becoming invalid later on?

I have not seen any examples being reported for this ghacks purchase.
The only reports I have seen have been for unconventional purchases of Windows 7 & 10.

Their sales page does not use the term 'retail' so I hope you didn't base your complaint on that term.

MSOffice licences [in fact, MS licences] no longer use the term 'retail' but, instead, refer to
- pre-installed software, and
- stand-alone software [acquired from a retailer].
