I have TWO Outlook mail boxes. Only one works correctly. Why?

May I share with you a bizarre problem I’m having with my new Outlook?
A couple of weeks ago I found that after a Reset/System Restore I had two different Outlook Mail folders. See below

A Volunteer Moderator in the Microsoft Community told me that one was for MS Outlook and the other the win10 mail app

    Normal:
I have TWO Outlook mail boxes. Only one works correctly. Why?-outlook-nornal-icon-2021-08.png

    New:

But what I discovered today is that although every new incoming email in MS Outlook is going to my Junk folder, they're going into my Inbox in my win10 mail. Has anyone any idea why, please?

I have to confess that I'm currently waiting for a Microsoft Agent to resolve this in the Microsoft Community *** but he's away for three days and I need an answer quickly as both mail boxes continue to fill up i.e. the problem is growing.

Can anyone suggest what I need to do please? Can I uninstall MS Outlook and keep the Win10 app?

Hoping that you can help me.

    David

Hey David. So, they're 2 totally different mail applications. So you can uninstall one and keep the other. Keep whichever you prefer.

That being said, if mail works right and outlook puts it all in junk I'm willing to bet its just the junk mail filter settings. Here's and official article from Microsoft about how to change these settings. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...7-d982c8d52f6b It most likely is on "Safe Lists Only" right now. Usually I keep mine on "low".

    Hopefully this helps :)

    Looking for HOME

Hi. I followed your link and it said "Click Home > Delete group > Junk > Junk E-mail Options".

The only 'Home' that I can see is this one in the top-left corner of the screen:

I have TWO Outlook mail boxes. Only one works correctly. Why?-home-there-another-home-link-2021-08-20th.png

It can't be the one because it doesn't have "Delete group > Junk > Junk E-mail Options". Is there another one?

    Hey Taffy,

    That's the right home :)

It'll either be under the little drop down error right beside the trash can in your above screenshot, or it may be under the 3 dots menu all the way to the right of that bar. I went to the three dots and this appeared:

I have TWO Outlook mail boxes. Only one works correctly. Why?-home-there-another-home-link3-2021-08-20th.png

This can't be the right one.

But perhaps the cause of all this nonsense is when I first paid to upgrade from outlook.com to Outlook, I had huge problems and a Microsoft Agent/Moderator in the Community, told me to run SARA, a Microsoft tool. (SARA = Support & Recovery Assistant). I ran it and it found lots of problems. Below is a snip of the first screen that appeared:

I have TWO Outlook mail boxes. Only one works correctly. Why?-sara-2021.png

Could this be the cause? (I've searched for a Tutorial by @Brink but couldn't find one.)

What version of Outlook are you using and showing this screenshot from? Have you tried the pull-down arrow \/ next to the garbage can?

This is from Outlook for Microsoft 365.

If you have the following [Safe lists only] selected and have yet to create a Safe Senders or Safe recipients list, all incoming mail may get filtered to the Junk email folder.
