MS Office Student Teacher 2007 Error 2502 2503

I jut got a new rig and I loaded my Office 2007 Student Teacher edition. I realize its no longer supported and I have a few other options, but I like having Office as my Word Processor. I've Googled, searched YouTube and here, but haven't found anything that will address the, 2502 and 2503 error. I've fixed it on my previous rig, but nothing seems to be working now.

Side Note: If I try to start up Word as admin, it will go through an update process that last about 17 seconds and the error won't appear. It's a rather tedious process. If I just click on a Word file, it does a partial update, then I get the error messages, but I don't have to wait 17 seconds for the document to open.

Nothing wrong in that, On my machines where I have a choice I still prefer Excel (however old) over free modern alternatives like LibreOffice.
I have (and use) Office 2007 on one of my machines. It has no such problems, but then it was already installed before that machine upgraded from Win7 to Win10.

Have you got the latest Office 2007 updates installed? There have been quite a few....

Have you checked for updates? Even though Office 2007 is past end of support, Windows Update should still deliver all updates issued up to end of support. Make sure its set to update other MS products, then check for updates.

Turn On or Off Windows Updates for Microsoft Products in Windows 10

If not, then the updates are still available to download from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Office 2007 does not attempt to update when you open files or open Office 2007 applications. Whatever you are seeing is being misinterpreted.

Bree is correct. Set Windows update to include 'other MS products' and then let it install all Office 2007 updates.
- There are dozens of them and they will not all be found & installed in the same WU session - let it install every update it can find and then keep running it again & again until it finds none.

You haven't mentioned activation. You need to activate Office 2007 using its own Product Key.

When I run Check for Updates there aren't any additional updates that list Microsoft Office. When I tried to load the most recent update for 2007 (from the link provided), it says that it couldn't find the program to update. I've also run the repair option and that doesn't help either.

BTW, I used to have Office 2007 Standard on a computer with Windows 10 Professional. It ran fine. I uninstalled it and installed Office 2010 Professional instead. I reinstalled Office 2007 Standard on a computer with Windows 7 Home. I did all this earlier this year.

This did eliminate the 2502 and 2503 errors, however it still does the Configuration Process each time you open a document. Now that the errors are gone the Configuration Process isn't as bad. Granted, it's still 17 seconds of Configuration Processing when opening as Administrator. It's funny that if you just click on a document or the shortcut (without admin) it's faster than trying to open as Administrator.

I'm very happy to have a solution to this, thanks to all that contributed.

It is a Configuration Process as seen in the video linked above.

I could not read any of the words in the dialogs that appeared in the video.

If it is a configuration issue then you can use the solution in the link I gave you.

I'm still concerned by your apparent lack of Office 2007 updates. There should be dozens of them. You did set the 'get updates for other MS products' entry using the tutorial that Bree gave you a link to?
- They will be listed in Start menu, Windows system, Control panel, Programs & features, View installed updates.
- Here are mine. Although I use a different Office 2007 Edition [Pro], I would expect you to have pretty much the same list of updates & I've left in a few that I believe were necessitated by Office 2007 although not part of the same set in View installed updates

Here is the Office 2007 Update List. Granted, it's a lot longer, but as you can see I've done as much updating as possible.
