Per Microsoft: "These problems may occur if the Windows Registry is missing some registry keys."

    Description, resolutions: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...sages-when-you

Note that Office 2003 isn't officially compatible with Win 10. The above referenced article suggests installing 'MDAC 2.8' but the link that MS provides seems to have changed. I did find a link for MDAC 2.8, but to be honest, I have no idea if it will work/install to Win 10. For your convenience, the link to MDAC 2.8 is :

That error is from the Installer not able to find the key for Foxpro dBase in the registry as stated. You can always run Windows Xp in a VM with Office 2k3. How to Get a Windows XP Download Free From Microsoft, Legally

Interesting article - as it uses a vhd, I am wondering if Hyper-v could be used. Time for an experiment......

My desktop does not have enough cores to run a VM. Kind of inherited it from the fiancé, to handle small office tasks that the Macbook cannot do (Multi-document batch scanning).

This is worth reading if you want to try older versions of Office in Windows 10.

    Hello,

I did not read all the commentaries of the link provided by @Bree
A look at running older versions of Microsoft Office on Windows 10

I am pretty sure that I can run Office 2003 in Windows 10 64-bits- 903 build

I have to read all the the comments and do some test, without VM or similar

For example there is a good know issue with WU and Office 2003

    FIX: Office 2003 Update Error 0x80096004 (KB907417)
    FIX: Office 2003 Update Error 0x80096004 (KB907417) - Appuals.com

Here is the log file to download

    I found
'MDAC 2.8' but is Available for x86-based computers only maybe WIn 10 32-bits - build 903?

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...rch.aspx?q=JET

So for now know I am still having issues installing old libraries

So maybe someone with the time to explore can help me to run Office 2003 in Win x64

    Thanks

Your only choice is to run XP in a VM for you to use outdated, no longer supported software.
